STAINS
Capture & Cascade: Nature is beautiful but harsh. The Capture/Cascade

with log movement, permitting the bridging of small cracks in the surface
of the wood, thus ultimately providing a shield for the underlying wood.
Follow your Capture Log Stain with Sashco’s Cascade: a clear weather-repellent
topcoat. This two-part water-based system is extremely effective in protecting
logs from the elements and damaging UV light, providing an attractive
finish that is long-lasting and durable.
High Sierra Log Stain was formulated for ease of application without
sacrificing beauty or performance. It can be used for interiors as well
as exteriors. Its unique blend of water and acrylic-modified alkyd resins
provides a stain that’s very easy to apply, with water clean-up. The cured
coating is both stunningly beautiful and durable, resisting UV degradation,
moisture and oxidation. High Sierra has a color pallet of 10 choices,
from rich warm browns to natural honey colors. The high quality trans-oxide
pigments enhance the beauty of the grain while protecting the wood.
Transformation: This beautiful, translucent finish will transform the appearance of exterior logs and vertical woodwork from dull and lifeless to rich and brilliant. Oil-based and easy to apply, Transformation has ultra water- repellency and extreme UV protection. It has been tested for compatibility over a wide range of stains. When it is time to transform eroded and failing stain, Transformation is the perfect choice.
Symphony: When applied to bare or stained wood, Symphony‘s clear, non-yellowing formula enhances the logs’ natural grain. It is water-based, with no offensive odor, and is easily applied. Symphony, in gloss or satin, is the beautiful way to protect the natural elegance of interior logs.
CAULK,
SEAL & CHINKING
Sashco caulks and chinks are made especially for log homes. They have
water-based formulas that are low in toxicity and easy to clean up. Their
elasticity allows them to stretch with the logs as they expand and contract,
resulting in a long-lasting seal.
Conceal textured caulk delivers performance that’s hard to see. Its seven colors blend in with the more popular stain colors used on log homes, and its light texture simulates the natural roughness of wood. The combination of color and texture makes it hard to see where the caulking ends and the logs begin.

Log Jam Chinking: When other chinking pulls away, Log Jam
holds its seal. Log Jam has long been the recognized industry standard
in elasticity, adhesion and durability, and it is still the only chinking
to hold a one-hour UL Fire Resistance Rating. When applied correctly,
Sashco warrants Log Jam for 10 years: it will not pull away from log surfaces,
and it will remain elastic and stretch up to 100% of the original joint
size. Log Jam comes in six colors, and while it maintains the traditional
look of mortar, its elasticity allows it to handle log movement in any
kind of weather.
Chinker’s Edge has a heavier texture that many professionals find easier to tool, with minimal clean up and proven performance. Brush Over Chink Paint is a cost-effective and labor-saving way to restore the look of your chinking. Refinish older chinking, cover repairs, touch up discoloration from staining, or change the color of existing chink. Brush Over looks like mortar chinking with its light texture, and is available in the same six colors as Log Jam. It is elastic and cleans up with water.
CLEANING & PRESERVING
CPR
Log Cleaner and Brightener: Bring your logs back to life! CPR is used
to clean and brighten uncoated wood that is dirty, faded or gray from
UV exposure. It is also used on new construction, prior to staining, to
clean wood and break down mill glaze, and for periodic cleaning of stained
logs to extend the life of your stain.
PeneTreat, a borate-based wood preservative that forms a shell of protection to defend against rot, most wood destroying insects and fungi, can be applied by brushing or spraying before staining, and after cleaning the logs. It comes in a powder form, and after mixing with clean water, it is easy to apply. PeneTreat is completely odorless, it does not affect the natural color of the wood, and is less toxic to people and animals than many other chemicals used as wood preservatives.
Bor8Rods (formerly Impel Rods) Impel Rods are a highly concentrated solid form of water-diffusible borate that are inserted into logs. They are ideal both for prevention treatment of high risk areas and for remedial treatment in areas with existing decay.
